At BabaTap, we believe that supporting an older adult does not always require medical training. Sometimes meaningful support is simply spending time together, helping with groceries and errands, preparing a simple meal, accompanying someone to an appointment, going for a walk, providing light support around the home, helping with technology, visiting someone in the hospital, or being there when companionship matters. These everyday activities can make an important difference in helping seniors maintain their independence and stay connected to their communities. That is why BabaTap is taking a different approach to building a senior support network: easy to join, carefully trained, and thoroughly verified before providing services. We are looking for dependable, respectful, patient, responsible people who enjoy helping others and are willing to learn. BabaTap welcomes candidates from many backgrounds, including students looking for flexible opportunities, newcomers building their future in Canada, parents looking for additional income, semi-retired professionals who want to remain active, drivers, service professionals, experienced caregivers, and everyday people who simply want to make a positive difference. Your previous job title matters less than your reliability, attitude, responsibility, and commitment to treating older adults with dignity and respect.
Our approach is simple: Recruit broadly. Train consistently. Verify carefully. Serve locally. Applying to BabaTap does not automatically make someone a Verified BabaTap Pro or immediately qualify them to receive service opportunities. Candidates must successfully complete the applicable BabaTap onboarding and verification process. Depending on the services offered and applicable requirements, this may include identity and eligibility verification, BabaTap training, an assessment, acceptance of BabaTap service standards and Code of Conduct, and applicable background or criminal record screening. Requirements may vary depending on the type of service, location, and provincial or local rules. BabaTap training is designed to help candidates understand how to interact professionally and respectfully with older adults, communicate appropriately with customers and families, understand service boundaries, respond to common situations, and recognize the important distinction between BabaTap’s everyday non-medical support services and regulated healthcare services. Candidates who successfully complete the required onboarding, training, assessment, and verification process may become Verified BabaTap Pros and become eligible to receive available service opportunities in their local communities.
BabaTap focuses on practical, everyday non-medical support that can help older adults continue living more independently. Depending on location and availability, BabaTap Pro opportunities may involve companionship, senior check-in visits, grocery shopping and errands, meal preparation, light home support, walking and activity companionship, technology assistance, pet-related help, hospital companionship, transportation-related assistance, and other everyday support. BabaTap is not intended to replace nurses, physicians, Personal Support Workers, or other regulated healthcare professionals. BabaTap Pros should only provide services for which they are appropriately qualified, approved, and authorized. Medical procedures and regulated or specialized care remain outside the scope of a standard BabaTap Pro unless the individual holds the appropriate qualifications and the particular service is specifically permitted through BabaTap.

BabaTap is developing a local service network that can connect qualified Pros with seniors and families looking for everyday support nearby. As the network expands, we want to create opportunities not only in Canada’s largest metropolitan areas but also in growing communities where seniors may have fewer convenient options. Having a trusted person nearby can mean that an older adult has someone available to accompany them, help with an errand, prepare a meal, provide companionship, assist with everyday activities, or simply check in when family members cannot be there.
BabaTap is currently expanding across Canada. In Alberta, the network is growing in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Grande Prairie. In British Columbia, opportunities are expanding in Vancouver, Victoria, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, and Kelowna. Across Ontario, BabaTap is developing its network in Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, London, Markham, and Vaughan. In Quebec, BabaTap is expanding in Montreal, Quebec City, Laval, Gatineau, Longueuil, and Sherbrooke.
The BabaTap network is also growing in communities throughout the rest of the country. In Manitoba, we are welcoming candidates in Winnipeg and Brandon. In Prince Edward Island, BabaTap is growing in Charlottetown. In Newfoundland and Labrador, the network is expanding in St. John’s, while in Nova Scotia, BabaTap is developing opportunities in Halifax. In Saskatchewan, we are building our community in Saskatoon and Regina. In New Brunswick, BabaTap is expanding in Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton.
